[TIPS FOR INTERVIEW PREPARATION]

[TIPS FOR INTERVIEW PREPARATION]
Now that you have finished creating an interesting resume and luckily got accepted to participate in a coming interview. Do you feel confused about what to prepare? We are here to help you with some tips for interview preparation:
1. PREPARE “POINTS TO MAKE”:
- You should prepare or write down what you would response to the interviewer. Please insert and provide detailed information that you mentioned in your resume. Try to make your answers align with the exchange program requirement and do not use someone else’s answers for you individual settings. It is better if you demonstrate something personal and unique of your own.
2. PRACTICE INTERVIEWING
- It is very helpful if you mock interview with others before it really begins. Ask for help from your friends or supervisors so that they can witness what you say and give you advice. If convenient, you can record your interview to review and adjust your actions correctly.
3. BE ON TIME OR EARLY
- Punctuality is especially important at an exchange program interview. If you are late, the indispensable consequence is that there will not be a second chance for you. Most remarkably, if you arrive early, you will have time for preparation or interaction with supporting staffs and other candidates. Talking with them will help you relax before a pressured interview and exchange thoughts on the program. Won’t it be useful when interviewers ask you if you talk with other candidates or not?
Next Wednesday we will present a range of frequently asked questions in an interview for exchange program. Come back and see what you should prepare to response. See you next time.

Flag hoisting in Vietnams ‘schools

On every Monday, every school (from primary to high schools) always organize a flag hoisting activity as an action to remind students about the beauty of history, country and show their respect to the country. YOUTH AND ETHICS

<YOUTH AND ETHICS>

Youths are vibrant. Youths are energetic. But sometimes youths are thoughtless, unwise and even rebellious. They think they can turn the world upside down and set their own rules. They ignore the ethical values and pursue a hedonistic life. They burn their future with the fire of corruption and wrongdoings. In fact, youth's ethical shortcomings are prevalent everywhere.

A recent survey in the USA has revealed that 64 percent of high school students have cheated on a test, 30 percent have stolen from a store, 36 percent used the Internet to plagiarize an assignment, and 42 percent sometimes lied to save money. This is a head-aching issue in our modern society. Obviously, youth is the future of our civilization. Hence, a corrupted young generation will lead to a corrupted society. It is essential that we seek the root of this and get into action. Firstly, youth is under the influence of the older generations. They are directly affected by adults' behaviors and thinking. There is a saying that: “Monkey see, monkey do”. So if a child grows up in a bad environment, he/she may become a bad individual. Thus, an adult must be a good example for the young ones to follow. Secondly, young people nowadays are under pressure to achieve good marks to “book” a position in university in many countries. And plagiarism is so widespread. Educators must deal with this problem soon or the future human resource will be badly damaged.

In conclusion, we should educate young people ethical values and teach them right from wrong. This guarantees our society’s sustainable development.

Japanese food

<Japan>

Today I would like to write about my favorite topic. It's Japanese food. Some of you probably think that the most famous Japanese dishes are sushi and sashimi, right?

Quite frankly, as for me in the past, I had thought the same before coming here. Furthermore, I know numerous foreigners who would think the same. Actually, the Japanese people here eat various foods such as Western and Chinese foods. Many of them often have bread, milk and sunny-side up in the morning while others have traditional meal as seaweed soup, fried salmon, pickles and white rice etc. The food they eat is all linked to their long life expectancy. For example they did not have meat in their meals before. However after the influence of America and Western they imported an amount of meat. But it doesn't mean that they have the same meal everyday. Young people prefer fast food, meat and dairy products. On the contrary, their parents and grandparents do not.

Last but not least, if you are here, try tasting different dishes as much as you can because it is Japanese flavor and is surely very different from the food of where you come from.

Happy Tihar!

<Nepal>

Tihar in Nepal

Soon after the end of Dashain, the second biggest festival of Hindus and non-Hindus too in Nepal, called tihar is observed. Tihar in general signifies the festival of lights, where diyas are lit both inside and outside the houses to make it illuminate at night.

According to Hindu mythology, when Lord Ram returned to his kingdom Ayodhya after winning over Ravan and completing his 14years of stay in jungle the people all over the nation celebrated the moment by lighting diyas all over. Similarly, according to other belief, When Yamaraj( god of death) was in problem he went to stay with his sister Yamuna for 5days and because of her blessing he was able to overcome the problem and to address that festival is celebrated.

Tihar is celebrated for 5 days. First day of the tihar is known as Kag(crow)-tihar. On this day crows are worshipped by offering them food and dishes at the roof of house. Crows are worshipped as an gratitude for playing important roles as a messengers. The second day is called Kukur( Dog)-tihar. Dogs are considered as most loyal living beings to human being and are worshipped due to this reason. Also, according to mythology, Dog also went to the heaven with Pandav brothers. Third day is called Depawali/Laxmi Puja/Gai(cow)puja. In the morning cows are worshipped as they resemble goddess according to Hindu religion, cow’s urine is also considered important for the process of purification in Hinduism. At the same day in evening goddess laxmi is worshipped. Goddess Laxmi is considered as goddess of prosperity and will only enter house if there are lights so many candles, diyas, electric lights are lightened. Fourth day of Tihar is known as gobardhan puja where oxen are worshipped. People who follow Lord Visnu worship Gobaardhan Mountain. Similarly, people from newar community celebrate Mha-Puja on this day.

Similarly, the final day of the tihar is called bhai-tika. On this day sisters put tika of different colors on the forehead of their brothers and exchange blessings. Sisters pray with god to take away all the huddles that may rise in the life of their brother. And with such delight last day of the tihar is celebrated. “ Deusi” and “ Bhailo” is the important component of Tihar where people make a group and go to the house of people and perform songs and dance and the house-owner give them money, food, and blessings. Tihar is a beautiful festival which on one hand enhances the relationship of brothers and sister and on the other hand shows respect to the animals that are always important in human lives.

Career support and training services for Student

<Vietnam>

Career support and training services for Student

Most universities in Vietnam provide a comprehensive career development service which help students
•To plan and manage their careers. .
•To set up the goals and realize them one by one.
•To obtain jobs suitable to the students’ strengths.

Through these things they will know how to approach their goals quickly and effectively. Because of the importance of soft skills career, the services also provides many compulsory courses to students such as: Working in Group (WIG – one of the compulsory subject in FPT university), Business English (BE – help student know to how to use English in global market, how to write a good email, CV in English). Besides, they also organize many seminars about the interview skills.

At those seminars, they guide students about the way to write a good CV and prepare for interview round. Many universities often invite many entrepreneurs or successful businessman or professor to talk and share experiences with their students.

Therefore, students have a chance to look at a new picture about the careers which they choose. Anyway, it’s just preparation not real. There is a big gap between studying at universities and working at company. Universities know that, so they give students a chance: OJT (On job training). They give their students to real company. And at that time, student will learn by doing and try to get as much as experiences they can. For example, at FPT university (one of the Vietnamese universities), students have to study 9 semester. And at fifth semester, students must go to FSOFT Company to study and work. After that, they will come back to school and prepare for capstone project. They also support for graduated students to find jobs after leaving out the universities. It helps to reduce the rate of unemployment.

ENTHUSIASM

ENTHUSIASM
-The Most Important Element that Contributes to the Meaningful and Memorable Youth-

Youth is a crucial phase in human life with chaos of emotions, thoughts and ambitions. Moreover, it defines our personalities and shapes our future. So, what is the most important element that contributes to the meaningful and memorable youth?
In my opinion, the answer lies in our hand: ENTHUSIASM. Obviously, to a freshman who has just commenced his/her independent life in a far-away city to create a new future, life is a pink. However, after a period of self-experience he/she will be disillusioned and overwhelmed with negative feelings. He/she may give up everything and fall deep into a meaningless life. At such point, enthusiasm will be his/her savior that will help them to regain their belief and continue the journey.

I cannot give the exact definition of enthusiasm but it is simply a fire in our heart, an endless source of energy that stimulates our aptitudes and creativity and helps us to overcome the barricades. Without it, you will be so fragile and misled. We can get the enthusiasm from our dreams, ambitions or from our beloved families and friends. Remember one thing: “Never let your enthusiasm cool off completely, let it be your own teacher and companion to discover this mysterious world”.

In conclusion, sometimes you lose your enthusiasm; it does not mean that you lose your passion. Reignite your enthusiasm instantly and be ready to taste success.

3rd day of Vietnam Japan High School Exchange 2014

3rd day of Vietnam Japan High School Exchange 2014

約3週間前に更新 · ホーチミン市にて撮影
As the journey of Vietnam Japan High School Science Exchange moved to its final day, each participant promised to enjoy every single precious moments when they were together. Unlike the previous days when students only exchanged their perspectives on science indoors, they were rewarded with a mini-field trip to Can Gio where real science encounter could be practiced manually.
Although the 2-hour driving to Can Gio was quite exhausting, no students ever showed their depression as they were so excited to set their footprints on the Monkey Islet. As Can Gio has long been famous for its natural environment with Mangrove forest.
Under the professionally detailed instructions of the teachers, the participants could determine the level to which the water and the air in the area were polluted. By carrying out experiment using special scientific devices, two separate groups found out that some area in the islet were polluted despite the protection of mangrove trees. The awareness of pollution in their mind suddenly has been greatly raised more than ever thanks to the experiment.
After the interesting outdoor science class, participants went back to Ho Chi Minh city where they spent their last hours in Vietnam going shopping in Ben Thanh market. The ending ceremony followed right after in an intimate coffee shop. As moments of the programs were shown on the screen, some of the participants touchingly shed their tears when they recapped their 3 day journey. Secret Buddies were revealed. Presents were passed to each other. Time flew. However, it seemed that no one would leave the room because they wanted to stay in the moment for a long time.
Every journey has its ends. It is time for the participants to go back to our daily routine with studying. Perhaps they have never thought that the program would finish this fast. They have never imagined that the program did it excellent job in sticking them together as a team. The program ended but memories would stay in heart forever. As the Japanese teams proceeded into the check-in sites at the airport, they promised to come back to Vietnam as soon as possible. We organizers also believed that the Vietnamese students were wishing the same. Let’s hope for a reunion of the participants of Vietnam Japan High School Science Exchange 2014 someday in the near future!!!
