-Youth overall are backbone of the nation. Future of country depends upon the young citizens-

According to the data of CBS 2010/11 57 percent of total population is the young population of Nepal. Because of the population growth the percentage of young people is also increasing. It indeed is a good thing as the independent age group of people is more. However, we cannot deny the fact about how the youths of Nepal are going outside the Nepal. One in every four household reported at least one member of their household is absent. And the highest population is from the age group 15-24 years. Unemployment, lack of political stability, low income source, illiteracy, lack of basic infrastructures are some of the reasons why youths have to go to abroad in every family be it family in urban area or rural area. Because of the lack of youths in Nepal, our country is lacking behind when it comes to the part of development. And stability in politics is also not possible without the youths not being interested in politics.

This is one of the major reasons why Nepal is the poorest and most undeveloped country in Asia. Being said that Nepal has done a tremendous progress in the context of youth literacy. Special classes, classes for females and some other provision have helped the percentage of youth literacy rate to increase. And we should be proud to know that we have highest progress of this number in south Asia. According to UNESCO Institute of statistics, over the years young female literacy rate is well developed from 14.97 in the year 1981 to 78.39 in the year 2010.

Youth overall are backbone of the nation. Future of country depends upon the young citizens. For building good governance youths of the country are really important. The responsibility for change, progress and innovation always lies on their shoulders. The elder generation sometimes misunderstands youth as inexperienced people and people involving in thoughtless activities. However this is only partly true, youth have the zeal to initiate revolutions. We ought never to underestimate the importance of youth.
