Wastes are Every Where

<Bangladesh>
- Wastes are Every Where

Waste management system of Bangladesh is very poor, which is one of the reasons for air, water and soil pollution of the country. Besides the old dumping system, lack of proper management by concern authority, unimproved technology; another critical factor that is responsible for environmental pollution from the wastes is our lack of awareness.
Almost all the people of Bangladesh do not dump wastes properly which causes haphazard spreading of wastes in everywhere. It seems Bangladesh is a huge dustbin. Wastes are everywhere; on roads, in water bodies, in cropping fields, in parks and so on. These wastes not only deduce the natural beauty of the country but also causes air, water and soil pollution and are responsible for spreading out of various diseases including respiratory problem, eye and nose irritation, skin diseases, diarrhea etc.
Children and old people are more susceptible to these diseases. Therefore we need to be aware of the importance of the cleanliness of environment and should try our best to keep our surroundings clean and take measures to clean the polluted areas. This habit of cleanliness need to be built from childhood and our home and educational institutions are the best place for beginning the habit. We can also learn about the best practices regarding waste management from other countries through knowledge sharing and exchange and implement the gained knowledge at country level for the betterment of the environment.
To take an initiation for changing this habit and trying to manage waste properly like the past year AAEE in association with SWITCH will be conducting “THE CLEANING CAMPGAIN 2014 “ in Bangladesh. We have been regularly updating about the environment and the program will finally begin from Nov. 14. Many university students will be participating in the program. This program will be a initiation as well as message to all people to keep their respective place clean.
