Environmental Pollution in Bangladesh

<Bangladesh>

-Environmental Pollution in Bangladesh

The term “Environment” can simply be defined as the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal or plan lives or operates and “environmental pollution” means any sorts of disorder of these conditions and surroundings that affects our normal life system. Environment started to become polluted from the very beginning of the civilization, but it has become a matter of great concern all over the world in recent years because of the greater extension of pollution which is now appeared as a threat to our survival.
The pollution of environment is caused mostly for human activities. In case of Bangladesh, the matter is much more serious. Severe air, water, soil and sound pollution are threatening human health, ecosystems and economic growth of Bangladesh.
The causes of these different types of pollution are interlinked and are mainly due to rapid urbanization, industrialization, deforestation and for use of fossil fuels. The situation is again worsening here in Bangladesh in context of over population, poverty, lack of awareness and limited infrastructure and resources.
The Government of Bangladesh has taken various measures including tree plantation, use of gas driven vehicle instead of diesel and petrol, banding polythene bag etc. to reduce the various aspects of environmental pollution. People from all spheres should come forward to join hands with Government and work from their own level to make the environment healthy and fit for our present and future generation.
